“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)
Reflection
This verse reminds us of a sobering and undeniable truth: every person has an appointment with death, and we will all stand before God. This is not meant to create fear, but to awaken urgency. Life on earth is temporary, but eternity is forever.
God in His love has provided a way through Jesus Christ so that we can stand before Him forgiven and redeemed. We are not promised tomorrow. That is why today is the day to surrender our lives fully to Christ, to walk in His will, and to share His love and truth with others.
This scripture calls us to evaluate how we are living. Are we living for temporary things that will pass away, or are we preparing our eternal soul? Our decisions today shape our eternity. Let our hearts be fixed on Christ, and let our lives reflect the hope we have in Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me that my time on this earth is temporary and that eternity is real. Help me to live in a way that honors You every day. Remove any distractions, sinful habits, or priorities in my life that pull me away from You. Create in me a clean heart and a steadfast spirit. Let my life reflect Your love, truth, and righteousness. Guide me to share the Gospel boldly so others may come to know You before their appointed time.
In Jesus’ holy name I pray,
Amen.
