How You Can Plug In

Simple steps. Real impact. A life that carries the Gospel wherever you go.

You don’t need a title, a microphone, or a special calling to make a difference—you just need a willing heart. The movement Jesus is building is made of everyday believers saying, “Here I am, Lord. Use me.” And the beauty of His Kingdom is that everyone has a place. Whether you’re outgoing or quiet, seasoned in faith or just beginning to grow, God has already positioned you in relationships, places, and moments where the Gospel can shine through you.

Living on mission isn’t complicated. It isn’t heavy. It’s simply choosing to let Jesus work through you one step at a time—one prayer, one conversation, one act of obedience, one person at a time. You don’t have to do everything. You just have to do what He puts in front of you. And when you take even the smallest step, God multiplies it in ways you may never see this side of eternity.

This page will show you the clear, practical ways you can join the movement and begin changing your world for Jesus—starting today.

Pray

Prayer is the spark that ignites every movement of God—and it begins with allowing Him to move in you. Start by praying for your own heart: for transformation, clarity, courage, and guidance. Ask God to search you, shape you, and lead you into deeper surrender. A transformed life becomes a powerful testimony long before you speak a word.

Then choose three people by name and lift them before the Lord every day—asking Him to soften their hearts and open doors for Gospel conversations. Prayer tills the soil long before the seed is planted, and God delights in answering prayers that align with His mission.

Reflection Questions

  • Who are the specific people God is placing on my heart to pray for, and what do I notice about why He may be highlighting them?

  • How can I pray more intentionally for open doors, softened hearts, and divine moments in the lives of the people I’m interceding for?

  • What burdens, needs, or situations in others’ lives is God prompting me to lift before Him consistently?

  • Where do I most need God’s guidance, clarity, or correction in my own walk with Him?

  • What does a more surrendered, Spirit-led version of my daily life look like, and what steps is God asking me to take toward that?

Scripture Reading

Psalm 139:23–24 (NKJV)

“Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.”

Colossians 4:2–3 (NKJV)

“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains.”

Share

Sharing the Gospel isn’t about having the perfect words—it’s about carrying the hope you already have. Ask God to open one meaningful opportunity each week to talk about Jesus in a natural, Spirit-led way. These conversations may begin with kindness, with listening, with compassion, or with your own testimony—and God will use them. As you step out in courage, you’ll discover that people are more open than you think, the Holy Spirit is more active than you realize, and the Gospel is far more powerful than you imagine.

Scripture Reading

Matthew 5:14–16 (NKJV)

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Matthew 28:19–20 (NKJV)

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Mark 16:15 (NKJV)

“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’”

John 4:35 (NKJV)

“Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!”

Acts 1:8 (NKJV)

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;
and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

1 Peter 3:15 (NKJV)

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you,
with meekness and fear.”

Reflection Questions

Sharing With Others

  • Who around me may be more spiritually open than I’ve realized, and how can I begin praying for an opportunity to speak with them?

  • Who in my daily life seems hungry for hope, and how might I begin building a deeper relationship with them?

  • What simple act of kindness or encouragement could open a door for a Gospel conversation this week?

  • In what everyday settings—work, home, community—might God already be preparing someone for me to talk to?

God Shaping Me as a Witness

  • What fears or hesitations do I need to surrender to God when it comes to sharing my faith?

  • How has my own story of walking with Jesus shaped the way I can share Him with others?

  • What would it look like for me to be more attentive to the Holy Spirit’s prompting in conversations?

  • What qualities do I admire in people who share their faith well, and how can I cultivate those qualities in myself?

Sharing doesn’t have to be complicated or intimidating. It begins with simply being available, being attentive, and being willing. For guidance, ideas, and step-by-step help, explore our Everyday Evangelist tools on the Resources page.

DISCIPLE

Be a Disciple. Make a Disciple. Walk the Path Jesus Walked.

Before anyone can disciple others, they must first be a disciple themselves. A disciple is not a casual or a cultural Christian; a disciple is a follower—someone who patterns their life after Jesus, submits their heart to His teachings, and seeks daily to grow into His likeness. True discipleship flows from a transformed life. You cannot lead someone where you have not walked, and you cannot reproduce what you do not possess.

One of the simplest and most powerful ways to grow as a disciple is to ground yourself in the full story of Scripture. Choose a book from the Old Testament to understand God’s holiness, His covenant heart, and His faithfulness. Add a Gospel so you can walk closely with Jesus—learning His voice, His compassion, His mission, and His way of life. Then choose a book from the New Testament letters to see how the early church lived out the Great Commission and how we are called to walk in the Spirit today.

Scripture Reading

Luke 6:40 (NKJV)
“A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.”

Luke 9:23 (NKJV)
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”

John 8:31–32 (NKJV)
“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

John 13:34–35 (NKJV)
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you… By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Colossians 2:6–7 (NKJV)
“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him…”

Reflection Questions

Becoming a Disciple:

  • What is the Holy Spirit inviting me to surrender so I can follow Jesus more fully?

  • Which book of the Bible is He leading me to study first — and why?

  • How am I creating room in my weekly rhythm to read, reflect, listen, and apply Scripture?

Discipling Someone Else:

  • Who in my life needs someone to walk with them spiritually?

  • In what ways can I model what it means to genuinely follow Jesus?

  • What has God taught me recently that I could share with someone I disciple?

SERVE

Use Your Gifts. Meet Real Needs. Let the Love of Jesus Be Seen.

Serving is love in action. When Jesus walked the earth, He served people everywhere He went—the broken, the overlooked, the hurting, and the hungry. A movement shaped by His heart must do the same. Serving opens doors that nothing else can, softens hearts that words alone cannot reach, and prepares the way for the Gospel in places where people desperately need hope.

There are countless ways to serve: in schools, neighborhoods, hospitals, recovery centers, prisons, nursing homes, local ministries, and even in your own church. You don’t need special skills or a certain personality—just a willing heart and open eyes. When you show up with compassion, humility, and availability, God will use you in ways you never expected.

Serving isn’t about position. It’s about willingness. If you are available, God will place people in your path who need what He has put inside you.

Scripture Reading

Mark 10:45 (NKJV)
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Galatians 5:13 (NKJV)
“…through love serve one another.”

Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Hebrews 6:10 (NKJV)
“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name

Reflection Questions

Serving Others

  • Where do I see real needs around me that God may be inviting me to step into?

  • Who in my community, workplace, or church could be strengthened by a simple act of kindness or help?

  • How might serving open doors for meaningful conversations about Jesus?

My Heart as a Servant

  • What attitudes or fears might I need to surrender in order to serve more freely?

  • How can I make room in my weekly rhythm to serve others intentionally?

  • What does it look like for me to reflect the servant-heart of Jesus in my everyday life?

SEND

Fuel the Mission. Strengthen the Work. Help the Gospel Go Where You Cannot.

Every movement needs people who go—and people who send. In Scripture, God used both to advance the Kingdom. Some preached, others discipled, others traveled, and many others supported the work so the Gospel could spread farther than any one person could reach alone. Sending is not a secondary calling. It is a Kingdom partnership that carries eternal impact.

When you “send,” you are helping open doors for the Gospel through your giving, your prayer, your encouragement, and your support of outreach, missions, training, and discipleship. You become part of every life that is changed, every heart that turns to Jesus, every new believer who begins to grow. And whether you support your local church, a missionary, a ministry, or Great Commission Today, your obedience strengthens the movement of God in ways you may never fully see on this side of eternity.

Sending is about trust, generosity, and partnering with God’s heart to reach people you cannot reach personally.

And when you give, pray, or support what God is doing, fruit abounds to your account (Phil. 4:17).

Scripture Reading

Isaiah 6:8 (NKJV)
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’”

Proverbs 11:25 (NKJV)
“The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.”

Matthew 10:40–41 (NKJV)
“He who receives you receives Me… He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward…”

Romans 10:14–15 (NKJV)
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? … And how shall they preach unless they are sent?”

Philippians 4:15–17 (NKJV)
“…no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only… Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.”

3 John 5–6 (NKJV)
“…you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers… you shall do well to send them forward on their journey.”

Reflection Questions

Participating in Sending

  • Where is God stirring my heart to invest in Gospel work beyond my immediate circle?

  • How can my giving, prayer, or encouragement strengthen someone else’s ministry or outreach this month?

  • What mission, ministry, or movement has God placed on my heart—and how can I partner with it?

My Heart as a Sender

  • What does generosity look like for me in this season, and how is God inviting me to trust Him more deeply?

  • How does understanding “fruit that abounds to my account” shape my view of giving and mission partnership?

  • What step of obedience is God asking me to take so that others can hear the Gospel?

From here, discipleship becomes incredibly simple and incredibly powerful: invite someone to read Scripture with you for six weeks.

One passage a week. One honest conversation a week. One prayer a week.

God will use your obedience to help someone grow in their faith, just as He is growing you in yours.

Find Your Place In the Movement!

One of the most important ways to grow in sharing your faith is to connect with a community that will strengthen, encourage, and walk alongside you. You were never meant to live the Great Commission alone. God designed believers to grow together, pray together, and serve together.

You have two powerful paths to connection:

Plug Into a Local Church

If you already attend a local church, let them help you grow in evangelism and discipleship. Talk to your pastor or ministry leader and ask:

  • “Where can I serve?”

  • “Is there an outreach team I can join?”

  • “Are there prayer groups or discipleship opportunities I can be part of?”

Your local church is a vital part of how God moves in your community.
