2 Corinthians 5:10 (KJV)
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
Reflection
This verse reminds us that our lives on earth are not lived without accountability. One day, each believer will stand before Christ—not to determine salvation, for salvation is secured by His finished work—but to give an account of how we lived after we were saved. Every action, every deed, every word spoken, every opportunity to serve, every moment we chose obedience or disobedience, it all matters.
This is not a verse meant to bring fear, but sobriety and purpose. We are called to live with eternity in mind. We do not labor for the praise of men, but for the glory of Christ. Let our hearts be fixed on pleasing Him, loving others, sharing the Gospel, and walking in obedience. A life lived for Christ is never wasted—every act of faithfulness is seen, remembered, and rewarded by the Lord.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that my life has eternal meaning. Help me to live each day in a way that honors You. Purify my thoughts, my words, and my actions. Teach me to walk not for the approval of this world, but to please You. Strengthen me to serve, to love, and to witness faithfully. When the day comes that I stand before You, let my life bring You joy and glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
