November 10 — James 1:12

Scripture (KJV): James 1:12
“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.”

Reflection

Life brings seasons of testing—moments of pressure, discouragement, doubt, and temptation. These are not signs that God has abandoned us, but opportunities for our faith to be proven genuine. James reminds us that there is a blessing in the endurance. When we hold fast to Christ through trials—refusing to give up, refusing to turn back, refusing to let go of the truth—we are demonstrating our love for Him.

The “crown of life” is not only future reward in eternity, but also the joy, strength, and spiritual growth we experience now when we remain faithful. Your endurance is not wasted. God sees every tear, every prayer, every quiet moment of choosing righteousness over convenience. Your trial is temporary, but your reward is eternal.

Hold on—you are closer than you think.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise that those who endure will be rewarded. Give me strength to stand firm in every trial and temptation I face. Help me to keep my heart anchored in Your love and my eyes fixed on the eternal reward You have prepared. Strengthen my faith today, renew my courage, and let my life reflect Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
