Scripture (KJV): Romans 5:8
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Reflection:
God didn’t wait for us to get better, try harder, or clean ourselves up. He demonstrated (commended) His love at the cross when we had nothing to offer Him. This settles two things forever: the measure of His love (the death of His Son) and the timing of His love (while we were still sinners). When guilt whispers that you’ve gone too far, let Romans 5:8 speak louder—your worth is anchored not in your performance but in Christ’s sacrifice. Today, receive that love afresh and let it shape how you see God, yourself, and others.
Live It Today:
- Pause and thank Jesus for loving you first and fully.
- Confess any sin, believing His love is stronger than your failure.
- Extend grace to someone who doesn’t “deserve” it—just as God did for you.
- Share the gospel in one simple sentence with a friend: “Jesus loved me at my worst and died to save me.”
Prayer:
Father, thank You for proving Your love through Jesus’ sacrifice. I confess my sins and receive Your mercy. Let Your love quiet my fears, reshape my identity, and overflow through me to others today. Make my life a living testimony that points to the cross. In Jesus’ name, amen.
