Scripture (KJV): Ephesians 3:17–19
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”
Reflection:
Paul prayed that believers would not merely know about Christ, but that Christ would dwell, take up permanent residence in their hearts by faith. When Jesus is truly Lord of our hearts, His love becomes the foundation we stand on, the soil we grow in, and the anchor that holds us steady. Paul also reminds us that the love of Christ is far beyond human understanding. Its “breadth, length, depth, and height” cannot be measured, yet it can be experienced. As we walk with the Lord daily through prayer, through His Word, and through obedience the Holy Spirit opens our eyes wider and wider to the fullness of God’s love. True spiritual maturity comes when our lives overflow with this love, shaping our attitudes, decisions, and daily walk.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the love of Christ that surpasses all understanding. Help me to be rooted and grounded in that love every single day. Let Christ dwell richly in my heart by faith. Open my eyes to the depth of Your love, fill me with the fullness of Your Spirit, and let my life reflect Your presence in all I do. Draw me closer as I walk with You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
