November 23 — Hebrews 9:27

Reflection: Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)
Hebrews 9:27 is a sober reminder of life’s certainty and eternity’s reality. Every person has an appointment they cannot cancel or postpone; an appointment with death, followed by judgment. This verse does not exist to frighten the believer, but to awaken the heart to the seriousness of life, the urgency of salvation, and the importance of living each day for the glory of God.

For the saved, this truth brings peace, not fear. Judgment for the believer is not condemnation, but evaluation, our works tested, our lives weighed, and our faith rewarded. For the lost, this verse is a warning full of mercy: now is the time to repent, now is the time to call on Jesus, because once we take our final breath, the opportunity to choose Christ is gone.

Let this truth stir your heart today. Live with purpose. Share the Gospel boldly. Walk in holiness. Every breath is a gift, and every moment is an opportunity to prepare for eternity.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me of the seriousness and shortness of life. Help me to live each day with eternity in view. Cleanse my heart, strengthen my walk, and guide my steps so that I may honor You in all that I do. Give me boldness to share the Gospel and compassion to reach those who do not know You. Keep my heart ready, my faith strong, and my life aligned with Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
