“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
Reflection
This verse is an invitation, not just to know about God, but to experience Him personally. David doesn’t say “hear” or “learn” that the Lord is good—he says “taste and see.” Just like tasting food for yourself, knowing God’s goodness is something that must be experienced, not just observed from a distance.
Many people know facts about God, but they have never truly trusted Him. This verse reminds us that blessing comes through trust. When you step out in faith, rely on His Word, and walk in obedience, you begin to see His goodness in your life—His provision, His peace, His faithfulness.
God’s goodness is not dependent on our circumstances. Even in difficult times, when we trust Him, we discover that He is still good, still working, and still faithful. The more you trust Him, the more you will experience just how good He truly is.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your goodness in my life. Help me not just to know about You, but to truly experience You. Teach me to trust You more each day, even when I do not understand what is happening around me. Open my eyes to see Your hand at work, and remind me that You are always good. Strengthen my faith so I can walk closely with You and rest in Your promises.
