Scripture (KJV) – Deuteronomy 30:19
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”
Reflection
Every day we make choices that shape the direction of our lives. Some decisions seem small, while others carry eternal consequences. Through Moses, God placed before the children of Israel a clear choice: life or death, blessing or cursing. His desire was not their destruction but their blessing. He lovingly urged them, “Choose life.”
That same invitation echoes today. Every person must decide what they will do with Jesus Christ. There is no greater decision than whether we will receive Him as Savior or reject His offer of grace. Eternal life is found only through Him.
Even as believers, we continue to make daily choices. Will we choose obedience over compromise? Forgiveness over bitterness? Faith over fear? Holiness over worldly desires? The Holy Spirit faithfully convicts us when our decisions begin leading us away from God’s will. His conviction is evidence of His love, calling us back to the path of life.
One day, every opportunity to choose will come to an end. That is why today is so important. Do not delay obedience. If God is speaking to your heart, respond while His invitation is still extended. Choose the path that honors Christ, and you will never regret following Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me enough to show me the way of life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help me to choose obedience over compromise and truth over the lies of this world. When Your Holy Spirit convicts my heart, give me the humility to respond quickly and faithfully. Strengthen my walk with You, and help me to influence my family and others to follow You as well. May every decision I make bring honor and glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
