Scripture (KJV) – Romans 14:12
“So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”
Reflection
One day, every person will stand before God. For those who have trusted Jesus Christ as Savior, this will not be a judgment to determine salvation, for Christ has already paid the penalty for our sins. However, every believer will give an account of how faithfully he lived for the Lord and used the opportunities God entrusted to him.
This truth should encourage us to live with purpose. The choices we make today matter. Every act of obedience, every word spoken in love, every prayer offered in faith, and every opportunity to share the Gospel is seen by God. Likewise, every careless word, neglected responsibility, and compromise is known by Him.
The thought of giving an account should not produce fear, but faithful living. God has given each of us time, talents, resources, and opportunities to glorify Him. Rather than living for the approval of people, we should strive to hear the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
Take a moment today to examine your priorities. Are you investing your life in things that will matter for eternity? Live each day as though it were your opportunity to honor Christ, because one day it will become your testimony before Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Help me to live each day with eternity in view. Teach me to use my time wisely, to serve You faithfully, and to love others with the love of Christ. Search my heart and reveal anything that would hinder my walk with You. May my life bring glory to Your name, and when I one day stand before You, may I be found faithful in all that You have called me to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
