Scripture (KJV) – Nehemiah 9:6
“Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.”
Reflection
Nehemiah 9:6 is a powerful declaration of who God is. “Thou, even thou, art Lord alone.” There is no rival. No equal. No competitor. He alone is God.
This verse reminds us that He is Creator of everything — heaven, earth, seas, and all that fills them. Nothing exists apart from His power. Every mountain, every ocean wave, every star in the sky testifies to His greatness.
But the verse does not stop at creation. It says, “thou preservest them all.” God did not simply create the world and step away. He sustains it. He upholds it. He maintains it by His power.
The same God who holds the universe together is holding your life together.
When circumstances feel unstable, remember: the One who preserves the stars also preserves His people. The One worshiped by the host of heaven is worthy of your trust today.
If angels worship Him continually, how much more should we? Worship shifts our focus from our problems to His power. It reminds us who is truly in control.
He is Lord alone. And that is enough.
Prayer
Father,
You alone are Lord. There is no one like You. Thank You for creating all things and for sustaining them by Your power. When I feel overwhelmed by life, remind me that You are sovereign over every detail.
Teach me to worship You with reverence and gratitude. Strengthen my trust in You, knowing that the One who preserves the universe also preserves my life. Help me live today in confidence under Your authority.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
