July 9 – Walking in Truth

Scripture (KJV) – 3 John 1:4

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”

Reflection

One of the greatest testimonies of a believer is not simply what they say, but how they live. The Apostle John expressed that nothing brought him greater joy than knowing that those he had discipled were continuing to walk in the truth of God’s Word. Truth is more than something we believe, it is a way of life.

In a culture where truth is often compromised for convenience, God calls His children to remain faithful to His Word. Walking in truth means choosing honesty over deception, humility over pride, forgiveness over bitterness, and obedience over compromise. It means allowing the Scriptures to shape our decisions rather than following the opinions of the world.

There will be moments when the Holy Spirit convicts us because our actions do not match God’s truth. That conviction is a gift of His love. He does not correct us to condemn us but to restore us and draw us into closer fellowship with Him. A heart that welcomes God’s correction will continue to grow in spiritual maturity.

Today, ask yourself this question: Would those around me see someone who is walking in the truth of God’s Word? May our lives bring joy to our Heavenly Father as we faithfully follow Jesus Christ each day.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the truth of Your Word that never changes. Help me to live according to Your truth in every area of my life. When I begin to drift, lovingly convict my heart and give me the courage to obey You without hesitation. May my words, my actions, and my attitudes reflect the character of Jesus Christ. Help me to walk faithfully before You each day so that my life will bring You honor and glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
