May 11 – God Gives Strength

Scripture (KJV) – Isaiah 40:31

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Reflection

Life can wear us down. There are seasons when the burdens feel heavy, the battles seem endless, and the answers from God appear delayed. Yet this verse reminds us that our strength does not come from ourselves. It comes from the Lord.

Waiting upon God does not mean doing nothing. It means trusting Him, seeking Him, praying, and believing that He is working even when we cannot see it. God promises renewal for the weary believer. He gives strength to keep moving forward when we feel weak and exhausted.

The eagle does not struggle against the storm. It rises above it. In the same way, God can lift His people above fear, discouragement, and weariness when they place their trust in Him. You may feel tired today, but God has not forgotten you. His strength is greater than your weakness.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being my source of strength when I feel weak and overwhelmed. Help me to wait upon You with faith and patience. Renew my heart, renew my mind, and give me courage to continue walking in Your will. Teach me to trust You even when I do not understand the season I am in. Lift me above fear and discouragement and help me to rest in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
