October 14 – Genesis 1:1

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 (KJV)

Reflection:
This verse is the foundation of our faith. Before anything existed — before time, light, land, mountains, oceans, or stars — God was. He is the eternal Creator, the One who spoke all things into existence by His power alone. This reminds us that our lives are not accidents and the world is not random. Everything has purpose because God is the Author of all creation.

If God created the heavens and the earth, then surely He is able to guide, sustain, and provide for us today. The One who shaped galaxies also shapes our steps. The One who formed the oceans can calm the storms within us. The One who brought all things into existence from nothing can restore what is broken in our lives.

Genesis 1:1 calls us to trust — to remember who God is. Our faith begins not with our circumstances, but with our Creator, who has all authority, all wisdom, and all love.

Today, let your heart rest in this truth:

God is in control.
God is sovereign.
God is the beginning of everything — including your tomorrow.

Prayer:
Father God, You are the Creator of heaven and earth, and everything exists by Your power and will. Help me to remember that my life is in Your hands. Strengthen my faith to trust You in every situation. Teach me to walk in awe, surrender, and worship each day, knowing You are my Maker, my Sustainer, and my Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
