“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV
Salvation is not something we can earn, purchase, or achieve through human effort—it is a divine gift from God. Paul reminds us that grace is the foundation of our redemption and faith is the channel through which we receive it. Our works, no matter how good or sincere, cannot save us; only the finished work of Christ on the cross can.
This truth humbles the believer and glorifies God. It strips away pride and self-righteousness, leading us to gratitude and worship. Every act of kindness, service, or obedience we perform flows not from a desire to earn favor but from thankfulness for the grace already given.
Let today be a reminder that we stand righteous before God not because of who we are, but because of who Jesus is. His grace sustains us, His love redeems us, and His mercy continues to shape us into His image.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your amazing grace that saved me through faith in Jesus Christ. Help me never to forget that my salvation is Your gift, not my achievement. Teach me to live each day in gratitude and humility, sharing the same grace with others that You have so freely given to me. Strengthen my faith and keep my heart centered on You, Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray—Amen.
