Scripture: Revelation 20:12 (KJV)
“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” —
Reflection
This verse reminds us that there is coming a day when every person who has ever lived will stand before God. No status, wealth, title, or earthly achievement will matter — both small and great will stand on equal ground. The books will be opened. Nothing is hidden from God — every word spoken, every action taken, every motive of the heart is recorded.
But there is another book — The Book of Life. This is the book of redemption, the book of mercy, the book where the names of the blood-bought children of God are written. We are not saved by our works, but our works reveal the reality of our faith. Those who belong to Christ will stand in confidence, not because they were perfect, but because they were forgiven.
This verse calls us to live intentionally — to examine our lives, to walk faithfully today, knowing that eternity is real and Jesus is returning soon. Let every thought, word, and step reflect our love for the One who died to write our names in the Book of Life.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me of the reality of eternity. Help me to live every day with a heart that honors You. Cleanse me from anything that is not pleasing to You. Strengthen my faith, renew my mind, and lead me in Your righteous path. Thank You for the blood of Jesus that saves, forgives, and redeems. May my life reflect Your glory so that my works may testify that I belong to You. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen.
