Psalm 119:105 – Scripture (KJV)
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Reflection
Life often feels uncertain. We make decisions about family, ministry, work, finances, and the future — and sometimes we wish we could see miles ahead.
But Psalm 119:105 does not say God’s Word is a spotlight showing the entire road. It says it is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
A lamp in biblical times gave just enough light for the next step.
That is how God guides us.
He does not always reveal the whole journey.
He illuminates the next faithful step.
When we stay in His Word:
- Confusion begins to clear.
- Fear begins to shrink.
- Direction becomes steady.
- Truth replaces doubt.
The Word of God keeps us from stumbling spiritually. It exposes danger. It corrects our course. It comforts us in dark seasons. When culture grows dim and opinions grow loud, Scripture remains steady and bright.
If you feel uncertain today, the answer is not found in chasing feelings — it is found in opening your Bible.
Light only helps if you walk in it.
God’s Word will not fail you. It will guide you step by step until you reach exactly where He wants you to be.
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for giving me Your Word as a lamp and a light. In moments when I feel unsure or overwhelmed, remind me to turn to Scripture first. Help me not to rely on my own understanding but to trust Your truth.
Illuminate my next step. Guard my feet from stumbling. Shape my decisions according to Your will. Let Your Word dwell richly in my heart so that I walk in confidence and clarity.
Thank You for being my guide.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
