Scripture (KJV) – Hebrews 13:16
“But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
Reflection
In a world that often measures success by wealth, popularity, or personal achievement, God measures our lives by something entirely different. He delights in hearts that are willing to serve, encourage, and bless others for His glory.
Doing good is more than an occasional act of kindness. It is a lifestyle that reflects the love of Christ. Sometimes it means helping someone in need. Other times it means offering a word of encouragement, extending forgiveness, praying for a hurting friend, or simply showing compassion when no one else notices. These acts may seem small to us, but they are precious in the sight of God.
This verse also reminds us that serving others often requires sacrifice. It may cost us our time, our comfort, or our resources. Yet every sacrifice made out of love for Christ is seen by our Heavenly Father. Nothing done for His glory is ever wasted.
As believers, we should ask ourselves each day, “Is my life bringing pleasure to God?” When our desire is to honor Him above ourselves, our actions become a testimony of His grace to everyone around us.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Jesus Christ, who came not to be served but to serve. Help me to live each day with a heart that seeks opportunities to do good and encourage others. Give me a spirit of generosity, compassion, and humility. May my words and actions reflect Your love, and may my life bring pleasure to You in all that I do. Use me to be a blessing wherever You place me, and may everything I do point others to Jesus Christ. In His precious name, Amen.
