Isaiah 55:6–7 (KJV)
“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
Reflection
God’s invitation is one of the greatest expressions of His love and mercy. He calls people to come to Him while there is still time. No one is promised tomorrow, which is why the Bible continually urges us to seek the Lord today.
Repentance is more than feeling sorry for sin. It is a change of heart that leads to a change of direction. God invites us to turn away from sinful ways and return to Him. He does not receive us with anger toward the repentant sinner. He receives us with mercy, grace, and abundant pardon through Jesus Christ.
This passage is also a reminder to believers. We should never become comfortable with sin or drift away from the Lord. Every day is an opportunity to draw closer to Him through prayer, His Word, and obedience. A heart that continually seeks God is a heart that continues to grow.
Do not put off what God is calling you to do. Whether it is salvation, repentance, forgiveness, or renewed obedience, today is the day to respond to His voice.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your mercy that is greater than my sin. Thank You for inviting me to seek You and for the promise that You will abundantly pardon those who turn to You. Search my heart and reveal anything that is keeping me from walking closely with You. Help me to repent quickly, obey willingly, and seek You daily with all my heart. Draw me nearer to You so that my life will bring honor and glory to Your name.
