April 16 – Ask God For Wisdom

Scripture (KJV) – James 1:5
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

Reflection
God does not expect us to have all the answers—He invites us to come to Him for them. This verse is a powerful promise that when we lack wisdom, we can simply ask God, and He will give it freely. He is not reluctant, and He does not criticize us for needing help. Instead, He gives generously.

Wisdom is more than knowledge—it is the ability to apply God’s truth to everyday life. We face decisions, challenges, and uncertainties constantly, and trying to figure everything out on our own often leads to confusion and frustration. But God offers clarity to those who seek Him.

The key is to ask in faith, trusting that God hears and will answer in His perfect timing. Sometimes His wisdom comes through His Word, sometimes through prayer, and sometimes through godly counsel. But when we truly seek Him, He will guide our steps.

You never have to walk through life guessing your way forward. God is ready and willing to lead you—just ask.

Prayer
Lord, I come to You asking for wisdom. I don’t want to rely on my own understanding, but on Your truth and guidance. Help me to seek You in every decision I face. Give me clarity where there is confusion, direction where there is uncertainty, and peace as I trust in Your leading. Thank You for giving generously and for always being ready to guide me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
