January 7 — Hidden in the Heart

Scripture Psalm 119:11 (KJV)

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

Reflection

God’s Word is not meant to be read and forgotten—it is meant to be stored, cherished, and lived out. When Scripture is hidden in the heart, it becomes a guide in moments of temptation, confusion, and decision.

The psalmist understood that victory over sin begins long before temptation appears; it starts with a heart filled with God’s truth.

Hiding God’s Word in our hearts means more than memorization. It means allowing Scripture to shape our thoughts, correct our attitudes, and direct our actions.

When God’s Word lives within us, it speaks louder than the voices of the world and strengthens us to walk in obedience.

A heart anchored in Scripture becomes a heart aligned with God.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your living and powerful Word. Help me not only to read it, but to treasure it in my heart. Let Your truth guide my thoughts, guard my choices, and strengthen me against sin.

Shape my life by Your Word so that I may honor You in all that I do.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
