Scripture (KJV) – Revelation 21:4
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
Reflection
Revelation 21:4 gives us one of the most beautiful promises in all of Scripture. After judgment has passed and God makes all things new, John sees a future where suffering is completely removed.
Notice the tenderness in this verse: “God shall wipe away all tears.” This is personal. This is not distant comfort. The same God who created the heavens and the earth will personally remove every tear.
In this life, we experience loss, grief, sickness, disappointment, and pain. We bury loved ones. We fight battles in our minds and hearts. We endure hardship in a fallen world. But this verse reminds us that pain does not have the final word.
Death will be gone.
Sorrow will be gone.
Crying will be gone.
Pain will be gone.
Why? “For the former things are passed away.”
Everything broken by sin will be replaced by perfect restoration. For the believer, this is not wishful thinking — it is guaranteed hope.
If you are walking through a difficult season today, hold tightly to this promise. What feels overwhelming now is temporary. Eternity with Christ will far outweigh present suffering.
Heaven is not just a place. It is the presence of God — and in His presence, there is fullness of joy forever.
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for the promise of a future without sorrow or pain. When life feels heavy, remind me that this world is not my final home. Strengthen my heart with the hope of eternity.
Help me trust You through present trials, knowing that You see every tear. Thank You for the assurance that one day You will make all things new. Keep my eyes fixed on You and my heart anchored in eternal hope.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
