March 1 – Continue in His Word- “Discipleship”

Scripture (KJV) – John 8:31

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;”

Reflection

Belief is the beginning — but continuing is the proof. Jesus was speaking to people who already believed on Him, yet He made it clear that true discipleship is revealed through perseverance in His Word.

To “continue” means to remain, to abide, to stay rooted. It is not a one-time decision but a daily commitment. Real disciples do not drift when life becomes difficult. They do not abandon truth when culture shifts. They stay anchored in what Jesus has spoken.

Discipleship is more than church attendance or occasional Bible reading. It is a steady, faithful walk of obedience. When we continue in His Word, our minds are shaped, our hearts are strengthened, and our lives begin to reflect Him.

The evidence of genuine faith is consistency. Not perfection — but persistence. A disciple continues.

If you want to grow closer to Christ, stay in His Word. Let it guide your decisions, correct your path, and fuel your faith. Continue — and you will prove to be His disciple indeed.

Prayer

Lord Jesus,
Thank You for Your Word that guides and strengthens me. Help me not only to believe, but to continue. Give me endurance to remain faithful when challenges come. Keep my heart rooted in truth and my life aligned with Your will. Make me a true disciple who follows You daily. In Your name I pray, Amen.
